Exploring sound- audio interviews and chat

To make the interviews we:

  • learnt about closed questions and open questions
  • tried a speaking and listening exercise where we worked in pairs so that one person spoke for 2 minutes about their favourite Commmonwealth Games related moment, then the other person tried to tell that story back again without forgetting any details (then we swapped over)
  • wrote down open questions to ask our partner
  • tried to record an interview in one go

We used the Easi- Speak microphone recorders to record our work.

Our microphone recorders, which have buttons to record, pause and play, then plug into a PC

We used Audacity to open and edit our files.

We also looked at how to upload a file to Audioboo, here is our playlist so far:

Social media for our school and staying safe

We made a list of all the social media sites we could think of, each group had lots of ideas and we took turns to write the sites on the board.

We talked about using the internet safely at home and in school, and what to do if we ever had a problem or felt unsafe.

We also talked about good ideas for using the internet for sharing work and how we could share this blog.  Lots of us have shared it at home with our friends and family.

We looked at other Digital Commonwealth projects, like Rothesay Primary to see what they put on their blog and what they share at school.

Feelings or emotions when a favourite athlete or team won a medal

Part 2 of the photo challenge was to capture our feelings or emotions when a favourite athlete or team won a medal.  Not all of our favourite athletes won medals, but many of our favourite teams did.

Here are some of our photographs.

Something we remember about the opening or closing ceremony

Part 1 of the photo challenge was to make something which shows something which we remember about the opening or closing ceremony.

Here are some of our photographs!

What The Commonwealth Games Means To Us

What the commonwealth games means to us is… Bringing different cultures together to play different sports and make the world a better place. I am looking forward to the games being in Glasgow because it will make Glasgow more popular and will bring more tourists and ideas.

Our School

We go to Inchinnan Primary School. What I like about my school is the friendly staff and meeting up with my friends every day. I also like living here because it is quiet lots of my friends live near me and there is some local shops and a play park

Georgia and Megan
In Inchinnan Primary school we learn many interesting new things.
Sometimes for P.E we go into the playing field to play games.
Were always welcoming new people into the school and making new friends.

After school and at the weekends we play at the Inchinnan play Park. The Inchinnan play park has been rebuilt and it is much better and more people go to it.

I like my school because its fun and we are always learning new interesting things.

Its great because if we work hard and do really well in our work we get awards.  This is our award board!

I like Inchinnan because there’s lots of kids around and there’s a park to go to.

Its very easy to get around and the playing field is good because you can bring your dogs along and play football .there is a lot of clubs for kids such as brownies,Guides,Cubs and Beavers.

We love Inchinnan so come and join our school, come to the park or come along to our clubs.
